The highlight of the nine day 'Welcome Home Gathering', welcomes home one of Ballina's very own; Mary Robinson, with a celebratory gala dinner in the Downhill House Hotel, Ballina on Friday 9th August. This very special night brings together a Gathering of Irish Music, Song & Dance preformed by Crossmolina's own Atlantic Rhythm Productions, celebrating all things Mayo and all things North Mayo, in the company of former President of Ireland, Mary Robinson.

Mayo North Welcome Home Gathering will be a series of events held throughout the North Mayo region in the first week of August as our flagship Gathering for 2013. From 1St August - 9th August 2013
Mayo North Welcome Home Gathering will host a series of events in the first week of August as our flagship Gathering Celebration for 2013.
Ballina will act as the main hub and surrounding towns of Bonniconlon, Killala, Crossmolina, Swinford and Foxford as well as villages of Attymass, Knockmore and Ardagh will all be hosting local events.
Highlighting the importance of agriculture, fishing and exhibiting the strong sporting traditions, music and arts associated with North Mayo, the Gathering opening night celebrates with a Seisun in The Father Peyton Centre in Attymass on the 1st August 2013.
Bank holiday Monday hosts The annual Bonniconlon Agricultural Show & Gymkhana (5th Aug) and this promises a real traditional Irish family day out, a must for all the family.
One of Ireland's longest running street festivals, Siamsa Sraide Swinford hosts a day of Gathering Celebrations on the 6th August, with the launch the of Siamsa Sraide Festival on Friday 2nd August running through till 7th August.
Foxford Gathering celebrations commences Friday 2nd, Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th August.
Other events running throughout the nine days include heritage walks & trails throughout Mayo North, historical exhibitions in Ballina and surrounding towns and a special Gathering exhibition hosted in the Jackie Clarke Collection Museum, Ballina.
Sporting events includes fly fishing tuition on Mount Falcon Lake and Ballina Golf Club Open week tees off. Ballina Arts Centre hosts a variety of Musical events for all ages and tastes over the weekend of 2nd - 4th August.
Friends and family of Ballinas' Pearse St get together to celebrate the Pearse St Reunion, Pearse St which was and still is the epicenter of commercial life in Ballina, celebrates its very rich heritage and its continuing strong ties with the Ballina community, bringing all those people who once lived, played, worked, shopped or traded on Pearse St back to the town to re-live the good old days over this Family friendly weekend from Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th August.
North Mayo Gathering hopes to strengthen links with returning emigrants from Manchester and Leeds where local people traditionally emigrated. Welcoming North Mayo's twinned cities of Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA, Pittsfield, Massachusetts, USA, Craigavon, Co Armagh and Athis Mons, France.
